The Arc of Ocean County is currently hiring a Part Time Accounting Assistant to support the overall daily operations of the finance department. This is a part time position located at our administrative building in Brick, NJ.

Pay: 21.00 p/hr, Bi Weekly pay schedule

Schedule: 24 hours per week, no less than 20 hrs. per week, must work Tues and Weds and must work 4 days per week.

Candidates with previous experience working in a financial or business office encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities would include but are not limited to;

  1. Demonstrate courteous, professional, and effective communication with supervisors, colleagues, participants, and community partners.
  2. Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail while preparing and stamping outgoing mail on a daily basis.
  3. Assist with the Accounts Payable process by creating weekly utility invoice templates, reviewing and uploading daily payment activities in the bank’s Positive Pay system, and initiating stop-payments on checks as necessary.
  4. Support the Administration by maintaining expense trackers and databases for monitoring agency utility, maintenance, and vehicle gasoline charges/receipts.
  5. Aid in the payroll process by preparing client pay stub envelopes each payroll week.
  6. Contribute to the Accounting process by collecting daily transaction data from the bank and distributing it to the relevant team member for posting.
  7. Oversee the PEX email inbox by processing PEX card funding requests after confirming that the requestor stays within their funding approval limits.
  8. Perform administrative tasks including answering phone calls, scanning documents, maintaining records, faxing, and occasionally driving to the bank, post office, or other agency locations.
  9. Provide assistance to the Assistant Executive Director of Finance and the Senior Accountant with audits, projects, and various ad hoc assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • A valid New Jersey Driver's License is required, with no more than five points on the record
  • Education: A High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting is preferred but not mandatory.
