Location Description:Welcome to the World of Whirlpool, a unique and innovative closed-market facility nestled in the heart of Chicago. Operating as a dedicated Training and Conference Center, our purpose revolves around supporting the Sales Enablement team for Whirlpool Corporation. Situated within our building, the 8th floor is transformed into a state-of-the-art showroom, featuring 11 fully functional kitchens. This remarkable space serves as a hands-on training ground for trade partners, including sales representatives from renowned companies such as Home Depot. In 2010, Whirlpool made a strategic decision to create its own showroom floor, eliminating the need to transport appliances to trade shows. Overview:The Production Assistant (Administrative Assistant/Concierge) is responsible for greeting and welcoming guests and employees to the facility. The Production Assistant is also responsible for assisting guests with special requests, maintaining the upkeep and appearance of the lobby space, notifying appropriate team members of service requirements, retrieving guests from other levels of the facility and providing information for activities, venues and attractions in the City of Chicago. This position will be the “face” of the administrative office level . The role provides administrative support to the Conference Services team and multiple business units under the Whirlpool Corporation umbrella.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsibilities
Create a positive and memorable experience for our guests by greeting each guest with a smile, a warm welcome, and thoughtful farewell.
Ensure the seamless execution of the Arrival and Departure processes.
Retrieve coats and/or luggage with meeting engineer assistance upon arrival or departure as needed
Send and receive employee packages and conference materials
Maintain business office supply inventory
Facilitates guest access through security as needed, providing security with guest lists
Greeting guests and escorting guests through facility and/or to off-site vehicle transfers
Manages and provides access to mothers room for guests
Fields phone calls to appropriate individuals from main phone line
Anticipate guest needs and execute tasks thoroughly. Accommodate all guest requests expediently and graciously.
Obtain beverages for guests upon request
“Be the Difference” during every guest and team member interaction.
Resourcefully and creatively solve issues to avoid missed guest opportunities.
Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work space , Report any Housekeeping or Engineering issues to the correct department immediately
Act as a liaison between guests and other departments of The World of Whirlpool. Answer inquiries about facility services, events, and directions in a professional, polite, and thoughtful manner in accordance with the standards
Print out any documents, directions, or tickets as requested by guests
Light tidying and cleaning of the front desk area
Occasionally assist in house client with tasks and projects
Perform other job functions when assigned to ensure property/company goals and guest expectations are exceeded.
Qualifications:High School Degree required , College Degree preferred (Hospitality)
Must be able to stand, walk and move about for extended periods of time
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends
Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and pleasantly in English
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Basic Computer Skills required ; type at least 45 wpm
Ability to use a computer and required software properly and efficiently
Basic mathematical skills and ability to make accurate mathematical calculations using a calculator
Must be at least 18 years of age
Minimum 1 year hospitality or customer service experience required
