Insight Contracting - Appliance Repair Technician
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour.
Benefits: Paid Time Off, Sick Time, and Company reimbursement toward qualified medical insurance premiums.

Job Overview:
Insight Contracting is seeking an experienced Appliance Repair Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing home appliances in residential rental units. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of hands-on experience working with home appliances. Candidates without appliance repair experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose & Repair : Identify problems with both gas and electric appliances, and perform repairs to restore appliances to working order.
  • Cost Estimation : Evaluate repair vs. replacement options and provide cost-effective recommendations to clients.
  • Team Training : Mentor and train fellow technicians in diagnosing and repairing appliances, and ensure consistent, high-quality work across the team.
  • Cross-Training : Collaborate with team members to expand knowledge in other areas such as mechanics, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Troubleshoot : Respond to work orders, providing troubleshooting assistance to tenants both over the phone and in person.
  • On-Call Service : Participate in an on-call schedule, ensuring tenants receive prompt service for emergency maintenance needs.
  • Winter Maintenance : During winter, be available for snow duty, including shoveling, plowing, and spreading ice melt.
  • Inventory Management : Maintain an organized inventory of tools and supplies in company storage and provided vehicles.
  • Supply Management : Assist with purchasing maintenance supplies, ensuring costs stay within budget.
  • Safety & Compliance : Adhere to safety standards and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • Record Keeping : Use a service-tracking app on a mobile device to log work performed and track time efficiently.
  • Communication : Effectively communicate with management, tenants, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Other Duties : Perform additional tasks as required to meet team and project needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Driver’s License : Valid driver’s license with a corporate-insurable driving record.
  • Experience : At least 1 year of experience in repairing home appliances (appliance repair experience is mandatory).
  • Additional Skills : Experience with small engine repair is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements : Ability to grasp, lift, maneuver, rotate, and use various trades tools and equipment. Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects (50-80 lbs.).
