SUMMARY OF DUTIES :
The Block Operator uses an electronic/automated system, arranges the use of blocks, tracks, interlocking switches and signals ensuring the prompt and efficient movement of trains.

The hourly rate is $29.77- $39.69 (with opportunity for increases, as per the applicable collective bargaining agreement, after beginning employment). If an applicant/employee refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records, the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive functions.
