We are looking for an Experienced Building Inspector! Put your construction and code knowledge to work inspecting all phases of building projects in Branson. From plan reviews to site inspections, no two days are the sameand your expertise helps keep our city safe and growing strong! What does a day "in the life" look like for this role? Conduct building inspections and minor plan reviews for code compliance. Inspect new construction, renovations, and repairs for quality and safety toverify construction aligns with approved plans and adopted codes. Read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings. Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and findings. THE MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING ARE: One (1) year of experience as a Building Inspector is required. A High School diploma or GED equivalent is required. Three (3) years of experience in construction trades is required. Possess or obtain within six (6) months of hire date, a minimum of three (3) of the following inspection certifications:International Code Council (ICC) Building, ICC Plumbing, ICC Electrical, ICC Residential, or ICC Mechanical. Certification must be current and maintained during term of employment. Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position. PREFERED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING Graduation from an accredited technical school program is preferred. MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS Be at least 18 years of age. Be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with City of Branson leadership in achieving those goals. Demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers. Possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Possess strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational, project management skills, sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and be detail oriented. A valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position is required. Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson. Act safely and follow safety standards while at work.
