CAD Drafter/Designer III

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 6 months

Pay Rate: $28/hr (W2)

Role Summary:
Responsible for creating and modifying detailed CAD drawings from engineering sketches, layouts, and notes. Ensures drawing accuracy, adherence to standards, and supports engineering teams with model updates, design modifications, and documentation (ECN/ECR). May assist with file management and CAD system maintenance.

Scope & Responsibilities:

• Perform complex design and drafting tasks with limited supervision.
• Utilize advanced CAD software capabilities; understand system limitations and tools.
• Check drawings for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Collaborate daily with engineers, peers, and customers; present and exchange technical information.
• Provide guidance to end users on timelines and resource needs.
• Suggest design improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Problem Solving & Impact:
Work involves moderately complex challenges requiring judgment and creativity. Decisions may affect project timelines.

Work Style:
Receives general guidance on new tasks; independently manages routine assignments.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of technical training.
• 4+ years of CAD experience with the ability to produce complex drawings and perform relevant calculations.
• Strong knowledge of CAD applications and drafting standards.
