The Goddard School® located in Elmwood Park, New Jersey is looking for a motivated, self-starter for an Assistant Director position at our School. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool is required. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills and have a good understanding of a developmentally appropriate learning program for young children. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to motivate and inspire others. The Assistant Director responsibilities include the following:

• Overseeing the operations of the School
• Developing strong relationships with our families
• Complying with state childcare licensing regulations
• Projecting a positive and upbeat attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrating highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Having a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education or a related field
• 2 of years of management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool required
