Senior Medical Coding Quality Auditor (Remote) - MS-DRG Specialist

Join a leading healthcare organization as a Senior Medical Coding Quality Auditor, working 100% remotely. In this crucial role, you'll leverage your extensive coding expertise to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality across our Health Information Management Service Centers (HSCs).

Position Overview

As a Coding Quality Review (CQR) Specialist, you'll play a vital role in maintaining coding excellence and ensuring compliance with national guidelines while working from the comfort of your home office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced coding professionals to advance their careers in healthcare information management.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive quality audits for inpatient and outpatient coding across multiple facilities
• Lead and coordinate pre-bill reviews, routine assessments, and special coding projects
• Evaluate coding accuracy and compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines and MS-DRG assignments
• Provide expert-level feedback and educational support to coding staff
• Maintain 95% or higher productivity and accuracy standards
• Participate in coding policy development and implementation
• Generate detailed audit reports and analytics for stakeholders
• Stay current with coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of coding experience with 3+ years of MS-DRG auditing experience in a hospital setting
• Current RHIA or RHIT certification required
• Comprehensive knowledge of all body systems and clinical areas
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in medical coding software and Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Health Information Management/Technology
• Additional certifications (CCS, CDIP, CCDS)
• Experience with remote work environments
• Leadership or mentoring experience
