School of Medicine, Pediatric Emergency Medicine is seeking a Community Health Worker (CHW) . The CHW will have background knowledge of health promotion in pediatric populations and feel comfortable working in school settings in Baltimore City. They will coordinate and conduct school-based activities by ensuring effective communication via phone, mail, Zoom, and school site visits. The CHW will communicate regularly with the team to discuss the project and intervention delivery activities weekly.
The Community Health Worker will also be in close contact with the program co-directors and serve as a link between the schools, the hospital, and other referral destinations for children and adolescents with psychiatric emergencies. This position will be supervised by the co-directors of the hospital-school liaison program for suicide prevention.
This job requires strong outreach skills, knowledge about the target community, social networking abilities, and attention to detail, and would ideally require a 6?12-month commitment.
