Overview: St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master's and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. The University's residential campus boasts a robust living and learning community and a successful intercollegiate athletics program. We are located in Pittsford, N.Y., seven miles outside of the city of Rochester. The campus is situated on 164 park-like acres-a beautiful setting for a warm, friendly campus community. Job Responsibilities: Outreach & Communications Liaison to campus student groups, including attending occasional relevant meetings and events in the evenings (up to once a month) Collaborate with library staff to develop and promote library services Coordinate with campus departments and groups to market library services Design physical and digital library displays, including new books and archives and special collections with an emphasis on diverse perspectives and materials Create fliers, posters, and other marketing materials Maintain social media presence, including developing schedule for posting and analyzing engagement Assist with campus-wide library communications, including drafting emails and reports, writing library newsletters Host library outreach events, for example tabling and satellite checkout, campus involvement festivals Digital Learning & Content Creation Assist with video tutorial review and management Work collaboratively with staff on content review process Under the direction of the Assessment & Online Program Librarian, review and update digital learning objects for accessibility and best practices General Duties Other duties as assigned Education / Experience: Required Associate degree or higher At least 1-2 years workplace experience Preferred Library experience Web content creation Competencies / Skills: Ability and willingness to learn new technologies Commitment to respect, understand, and support people with diverse backgrounds, including needs and abilities Able to work independently to achieve stated goals Comfortable working as part of a team Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, or similar office software Excellent written and oral communication skills Able to communicate effectively with diverse populations Interest in creative and technical writing Interest in marketing and communication best practices Knowledge or willingness to learn about web accessibility standards Supervision of Employees: None Work Hours: · Flexible schedule, 20 hours per week, 12-month position · Hybrid work schedule available Possibility of evening or weekend hours with advance notice to meet with student groups EEO Statement: It is the policy of St. John Fisher University to provide Equal Employment Opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment in accordance with the applicable federal, state, and local laws governing non-discrimination in employment in each locality in which the College has employees.
