Role Overview: The Data Science/Analytics and AI Specialist will play a pivotal role in advancing NATO’s data exploitation capabilities, contributing to the development and deployment of data science and AI-driven solutions across the NATO enterprise. This role focuses on applying advanced data analytics and AI techniques to enhance decision-making processes and support the digital transformation strategy within NATO.
Key Responsibilities: - Data Science and AI Development: Assist in the design, development, and implementation of data science and AI capabilities within NATO, focusing on both operational and business functional areas. This includes applying machine learning (ML) and AI techniques to address complex problems and improve NATO’s operational efficiency.
- Data Analytics: Develop and deploy data analytics models, transforming data into actionable insights. Create data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that effectively communicate findings to support decision-making at all levels.
- Machine Learning Initiatives: Contribute to ML/AI initiatives, including the processing of training data, model development, and performance assessment. Collaborate with data engineers and software developers to integrate AI models into NATO’s digital infrastructure.
- Collaboration and Support: Work closely with various stakeholders, including data professionals, software engineers, and subject matter experts within NATO, to ensure the successful execution of data science projects. Provide technical expertise and support to enhance the data-driven culture within NATO.
- Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay informed about the latest developments in data science and AI, bringing innovative ideas into implementation. Support educational and training initiatives related to AI and data science within NATO.
- Data Engineering: Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures to ensure data quality and availability for analysis. Work with large-scale processing systems and implement scalable solutions for data management.
Qualifications: - Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, operations research, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in data science, data analytics, or a related field. Experience with machine learning, AI models, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is essential.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark. Familiarity with cloud computing environments and DevSecOps practices is highly desirable.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural teams. Ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Clearance: A current SECRET security clearance is required
