Job Description
The designer creates the summit brand identity within the guidelines of HighEdWeb and produces designs for all collateral as a branded suite including the website. This role works with the Marketing and Communications Lead, Social Media Coordinator, and Web Coordinator to ensure that the summit’s brand identity is represented cohesively through all channels and collateral.
Responsibilities
General
~Facilitate an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
Before the summit
~Work with the MarCom Lead and Platform Coordinator to develop the base wireframe and style prototype for the summit website.
~Develop a design style guide for the summit (fonts, logo, swatch colors)
~Design all collateral needed to market the summit, such as:
~Web ads and badges
~Twibbon
~Social media promotions (like Facebook event imagery)
~Postcard
~Swag
~Name badges
~Signage for summit and sessions (digital and printed)
~Evaluation forms
~Marketing email design
During the summit
~Assist with conference setup
~Attend all committee meetings
~Develop ad hoc signage or other materials to support communication efforts
After the summit
~Ensure all design files and related files are archived within the summit project management site for future reference
Qualifications
Required
~Membership in the association, which can be fulfilled at application. (Free general membership for higher education professionals would meet this requirement.)
~A detail oriented person that can stay on top of multiple responsibilities
~Experience with graphic design development for multiple formats and platforms, and brand identity development
Preferred
~Knowledge and experience with web graphic design
Estimated time commitment
~As a member of the planning committee, this position is expected to virtually attend monthly meetings
~The time commitment for committee work varies, with a minimum of 1-2 hours per month and a peak commitment of 1 hour/day at times of deadlines (identifying brand details, setting up the website, preparing signs, etc.)
~There will be a couple of hours required after the summit to prepare a final report with recommendations for future events
Length of appointment
Up to 12 months with the option to renew for a subsequent term

Conference attendance
