Are you a marketing leader with hands-on experience in small business marketing—not just big-budget tech marketing—who thrives on crafting high-level strategies and diving into the details to bring them to life? Do you thrive in a truly scrappy, entrepreneurial environment where resourcefulness instead of overspending is celebrated? If so, we’re looking for you to lead our marketing efforts as the Director of Marketing at Farmgirl Flowers—a direct-to-consumer floral e-commerce brand redefining how we connect through flowers.
About Us:
We’re not your typical floral company, and we’re not looking for a typical marketer. As a bootstrapped brand, we’ve built our success on creativity, grit, and a commitment to delivering joy to our customers while staying true to our values. If you’re ready to join a team that’s as passionate about beautiful bouquets as it is about being authentic and approachable, keep reading.
About the Role:
The Director of Marketing is a hands-on leader who thrives at the intersection of art and science. You’ll guide our strategy while staying close to the work—because we know great marketing isn’t just about delegation; it’s about doing. In this role, you’ll balance data-driven decision-making with creative storytelling to drive revenue, grow our brand, and delight our customers. And yes, you’ll do it all while respecting the budget of a company that knows the value of every dollar.
What You’ll Do:
Own the Strategy: Develop and execute a marketing strategy that drives customer acquisition, retention, and brand loyalty.
Roll Up Your Sleeves: From crafting compelling campaign copy to analyzing performance metrics, you’ll lead by example and stay involved in the details.
Channel Leadership: Optimize and innovate across paid, owned, and earned channels, including email, social media, text, SEO, PPC, partnerships, and more.
Creative Collaboration: Work closely with product and operations teams to ensure all campaigns balance data insights with beautiful, impactful storytelling.
Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze performance data to continuously improve ROI and make smarter marketing investments.
Team Mentorship: Grow and guide a small but mighty team (of 2), empowering them to execute brilliantly while fostering a collaborative culture.
Stay Resourceful: Stretch budgets, prioritize impact, and find creative solutions to challenges.
What You Bring:
Proven success leading marketing for a DTC brand, preferably in e-commerce or lifestyle categories.
A balanced mindset that combines analytical rigor with creative intuition.
Expertise in digital marketing channels, particularly email, paid social, and content marketing.
Hands-on experience with campaign creation and performance analysis—you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty. We do not subscribe to the “manage external agency mindset” at Farmgirl, we do the work internally in order to utilize our marketing spend in the most effective and cost efficient way possible.
A resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving (bonus points if you’ve previously thrived in a bootstrapped environment).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a lean, high-performing team.
A passion for working for a company that gets to bring joy to hundreds of thousands of people's lives each year!
Why You’ll Love It Here:
You’ll have the chance to make a big impact in a small company where your impact matters.
We value authenticity, creativity, and positivity as much as KPIs and ROAS.
You’ll work alongside a team that cares deeply about what we do and how we do it.
We believe in growing responsibly, celebrating wins, and finding joy in the journey.
Ready to join us? Send us your resume and a note about why you’re the perfect fit. We can’t wait to hear from you!
