The Sediment Program Analyst position works to increase beneficial uses of sediment dredged from the Bay in wetland restoration projects, ensures safe navigation for both large ships and small recreation vessels, and works to protect ecosystem health along the way. As a Sediment Program Analyst, you will manage dredging and aggregate mining activities, support beneficial reuse of dredged sediment, provide technical advice, and work with restoration projects and sediment and soil providers to reduce barriers to beneficial reuse in restoration projects. In addition, you’ll work with Commissioners in workshops and working groups and provide recommendations to the Executive Director and the Commission on proposals involving a wide range of sediment issues. The work includes

  • Navigation dredging projects
  • Sediment quality analysis

  • Wetland restoration and other habitat focused projects
  • Coordination with project proponents and stakeholders
  • Preparing materials for workshops with project proponents
  • Development of technical documents related to sediment issues
  • Resource protection efforts

You will also assist in assessing the resiliency of proposed adaptation plans that include sediment and soil use to reduce future flooding from sea level rise and help permit applicants ensure that their project can adapt to rising tides.   See the duty statement for more information.
