Candidate Profile

Join TotalEnergies Renewables USA, LLC as an External Affairs Coordinator contractor reporting to our NYC office . This is a new addition to our team as we are strengthening our presence in renewable energies.

The External Affairs Coordinator will support the Senior External Affairs Manager as well as relevant project and initiative leads to successfully position and advocate on behalf of the Company's offshore wind projects, primarily Attentive Energy in New York and New Jersey

What You Will Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, Public Policy, International Affairs, Marketing, Communications or related field;
  • 3+ years of experience in government relations, electoral campaigns, clean energy development/advocacy; community organizing or relevant state/federal public entities;
  • Experience developing or executing outreach strategies for stakeholder organizations or advocacy campaigns;
  • Ability to analyze local issues and develop relevant briefings and outreach materials;
  • Excellent research, writing and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and establish clear and measurable objectives while prioritizing and organizing a varied workload;
  • Experience of working collaboratively within large, interdisciplinary teams;
  • Willingness to travel regularly for project relevant events and meetings as well as project offices

Activities

  • Supports and executes public positioning and advocacy initiatives across New York and New Jersey in support of project deliverables and development milestones;
  • Identifies, develops and grows stakeholder relationships and collaboration opportunities in support of the project's external affairs advocacy and communications strategies;
  • Manages CRM and outreach databases as well as relevant project management platforms;
  • Supports External Affairs team operations including as the primary interface and coordinator between interdepartmental initiatives and strategies within the Project
  • Manages public event coordination and participation including maintaining a strategic calendar, tracking deadlines for sponsorships, procurement and registrations.
  • Supports team operations by aggregating activity reports and outcomes in concise summaries and action trackers;
  • Organizes and leads stakeholder meetings, events and relevant engagement efforts in close coordination with the Senior External Affairs Manager and relevant project team members supporting coalition and advocacy goals;
  • Coordinates ongoing initiatives among stakeholders and relevant public entities and organizations on project initiatives such as project overviews, advocacy strategies and ensures partners are informed of project milestones;
  • Coordinates with External Affairs team members and relevant economic benefits partners to align on advocacy and announcement goals that are tied to overall project milestones and market positioning;
  • Develops research and background materials on relevant project efforts as needed on stakeholder engagement, company public positioning and local community and organizational outreach;
  • Prepares public positioning and communication content as needed;
  • Coordinates talking points between stakeholder workstream and communication/marketing efforts as it relates to company's external messaging and advocacy efforts;
  • Represents the project at relevant community and stakeholder events both virtual and in-person across New York and New Jersey;
  • Ensures local stakeholders are connected to the company culture and communicates the mission and values of the project
  • Ensures external affairs operations and interdepartmental coordination is well organized and consistent
  • Ensures the project is collaboratively explained, designed and executed so all stakeholders are informed, consent, and ultimately support the project
  • Does so while developing and maintaining a great reputation for the company with all counterparts, based on reliability, punctuality, clarity of thoughts and dependability
Represents the project among public, civic and community organizations and ensures clear communication of shared goals and interests

What We Provide

TotalEnergies values the partnership with our external recruitment providers. As a contractor assigned to TotalEnergies you will be eligible for benefits through your agency employer such as PTO, paid holidays, and transportation allowance. The anticipated hourly salary range for this position is $40 - $55 dependent on qualifications and experience.
