Summary

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is an instructional position performed under the immediate direction of the classroom Lead Teacher. Duties involve assisting the Lead Teacher in planning, coordinating, and executing a program of instruction for an assigned group of preschool children, which could include children with disabilities. Important aspects of the work include having a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and the coordination of volunteers and others engaged in classroom and related activities. Responsibilities include childcare activities BEFORE and AFTER normal Head Start classroom hours.

QUALIFICATIONS :
Must have CDA credential with preschool endorsement, AA or BS in Early Childhood Education or enrolled in a program leading to a CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education.  Must be 21 to work in a Pre-K classroom. A current physical, TB Screening or chest X-Ray, background ck, & drug test are required prior to working with children. Applicants should list bilingual skills if applicable.
