This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Walton Correctional Institution in the Education Department. This position is for an Adult Basic Education/GED® Instructor responsible for delivery of instruction in Math/Science, Reading-Language Arts and Social Studies through a blended instructional model.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
Salary: $51,500.02 Annually
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
JOB DUTIES: (there should only be the top five duties listed)
The incumbent in this position is responsible for teaching assigned academic subjects to students at a correctional institution/facility. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
The Level 2 background check includes fingerprinting for state and federal criminal records and may also include local criminal records checks.
According to Florida law (S. 110.1127(1)), this position requires a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
