We are an Austin, TX-based healthcare practice brokerage specializing in the sale of healthcare businesses with annual revenues between $1MM and $15MM. Our team of 15 operates nationwide. The Role: Financial Analyst and M&A Underwriter

We seek a full-time Financial Analyst and Underwriter with an accounting/finance background. Experience as an commercial banking underwriter, bookkeeper, accountant, or credit analyst for small businesses is preferred, but candidates with finance roles, and new graduates with accounting/finance/business degrees are welcome too. This can be an entry-level position for the right candidate, or a great career change opportunity for a tax or banking professional.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and their accountants to obtain financial statements
  • Process financial data into our internal review system
  • Identify discretionary and one-time expenses through investigation and client team interactions
  • Audit financials to produce recasted financial statements for buyer review

Ideal Candidate:

  • Enjoys or seeks experience with small business accounting
  • Likes investigating financial data to understand business operations
  • Enjoys refining their process for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Comfortable being on the phone and video calls with clients and their accounting teams

Requirements:

  • Reside or ability to reside in Austin, TX
  • Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Strong team player and collaborator
  • Excellent work ethic and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Licensed CPA
  • BA/BS in accounting or finance
  • 1-2 years in investment banking, commercial banking, or private equity
  • Experience building financial models in Excel
  • Extensive experience preparing both ledgers and financial statements with Quickbooks
  • Experience reconciling tax returns, financial statements, and payroll reports
  • Experience with the tax implications of selling a business
  • Experience with Valuations/Appraisals
  • Experience with financial statement analysis and data mining of key performance indicators from small business’s operational systems

Our Team

You'll join a diverse group of MBAs, healthcare professionals, real estate experts, CPAs/bookkeepers, and M&A specialists, with hands-on training provided.

Compensation

Starting around $65,000 per year depending on experience and any preferred qualifications you might have. Entry level candidates requiring skill-building may start slightly lower during the first 8-12 weeks of training. Benefits include a 4% 401(k) match (after 6 full months), 100% employee coverage medical benefits, and profit sharing.
