Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop FPGA firmware using VHDL and Verilog including simulation, synthesis, timing closure, and verification.
• Design and implement communication hardware based on high-level specifications.
• Support hardware development for space systems working with system engineers and optical communications test engineers.
• Work with optical communications hardware to support the group mission.
• Design and implement flash-based memory interfaces such as SATA and PCIe.
• Perform digital signal processing of optical signals and FPGA implementation of coherent processing of heterodyne receiver outputs, high-speed forward error correction codes, and interleavers.
• Integrate components and validate hardware designs.
• Support qualification and environmental testing including space environment considerations.
• Participate in design reviews, documentation, and technical reporting.
• Work onsite 3 days per week.

• master’s degree in related discipline — Preferred
