The Health Education Resource Office (HERO) is a source for KU student wellness through partnerships that support innovative approaches toward optimal health while maximizing academic and professional success.
This health education position is to assume responsibility for creating, implementing, and assessing university-wide wellness programs specific to nutrition and food security. Other topic areas may include, but are not limited to: alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, sexual health and healthy relationships, and mental health and self-management. The goal is to support healthy lifestyles by promoting protective behaviors and reducing high-risk behaviors and/or negative consequences. The incumbent in this position will see, hear, and possibly have access to confidential information that must be handled in accordance with all relevant state and federal laws and university policies and procedures regarding its use and disclosure. HERO utilizes computer technology in all aspects of its operations. The incumbent must become familiar with and be able to use the appropriate computer hardware and software programs associated with this position. The incumbent must become familiar with and adhere to the Watkins Health Center Customer Experience Plan to ensure appropriate interaction and positive outcomes with both internal and external customers.
