We’re seeking servers who are passionate about hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Job Summary:
The Host/Hostess at Crab Cab plays a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming first impression for our guests. You will be responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, answering phone calls, and ensuring guests are taken care of throughout their dining experience. You will monitor dining areas for seating availability, maintain cleanliness, and assist with managing take-out orders. You are the face of Crab Cab, ensuring that every guest feels welcome and valued from the moment they arrive until they depart.

Core Activities:

  • Greet guests warmly and acknowledge them by name whenever possible.
  • Seat guests by finding a clean, available table, pulling out chairs, and placing menus in front of them.
  • Ensure each guest has a complete place setting (napkin, clean silverware, etc.).
  • Manage reservations, answer phone calls, and take take-out orders, ensuring accuracy.
  • Monitor the dining area for seating availability, guest safety, and overall well-being.
  • Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs.
  • Thank guests sincerely upon their departure and invite them to return.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in customer service or restaurant environment preferred.
  • Friendly, welcoming attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment.
  • Knowledge of alcoholic beverages is preferred (cocktails, beer, wine).
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol and comply with liquor laws.
  • Available to work during peak hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Guest Relations:

  • Address guest needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.
  • Anticipate guest needs by asking questions and responding accordingly.
  • Provide a warm, genuine farewell and encourage return visits.

Communication:

  • Use clear, professional language when speaking with guests and coworkers.
  • Maintain discretion when discussing work topics with coworkers or managers.

Working with Others:

  • Support fellow employees and maintain a respectful work environment.
  • Foster a teamwork-oriented atmosphere to achieve shared goals.

Physical Tasks:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds regularly, and 50 pounds with assistance.

General Food and Beverage Services:

  • Maintain cleanliness in guest and work areas throughout your shift.
  • Set tables with linens, glassware, and appropriate table settings to meet Crab Cab’s standards.

Policies and Procedures:

  • Follow company guidelines regarding privacy, security, and cleanliness.

  • Ensure your appearance is clean and professional.

  • Perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by management.

  • Safety and Security:

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and report any incidents immediately.

  • Follow proper procedures for handling emergencies and ensure a clean, safe environment.
