Job Description

Strategic Business Technology Partner (SBP)

GA/TX hybrid/REMOTE

The Strategic Business Technology Partner (SBP) is a senior leadership role focused on advancing business goals through technology. The SBP is responsible for managing key stakeholder relationships, overseeing strategic vendor and partner collaborations, and providing leadership in the development and delivery of technology solutions that align with business objectives and go to market strategies . This position plays a critical role in shaping the technology roadmap, ensuring alignment between business and IT strategies, and delivering sustainable value through strategic partnerships.

The SBP advises and collaborates with business line leadership teams to provide technology expertise, strategy, and solutions that drive value and support the overarching business strategy of ABM. In addition to demonstrating business and technology acumen, this position leads transformational change and advocates for technology solutions that drive revenue, increase profit, and reduce costs. The SBP is accountable for all technology solutions within their scope of responsibility.

An SBP must be proficient in different leadership scenarios: as an independent leader using influence, a team leader leveraging direct control, and a cross-functional leader managing upward and across peer groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clearly articulate and understand the strategic imperatives, business capabilities, and technology requirements of the assigned Industry Group (e.g., Aviation, Parking, B&I, Education, M&D, ATS) in alignment with APS objectives. Ensure cross-Industry Group collaboration to leverage technology solutions that support and enhance APS operations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define and implement technology and information strategies that drive revenue and profit growth, enhance client satisfaction, strengthen competitive positioning, and improve operational efficiency, while also providing expert consultation on business cases.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the existing technology solutions within the Industry Group, including their current usage, value propositions, and client impacts. Prioritize solution consolidation to reduce technical debt, optimize the total cost of ownership, and eliminate redundant systems across business units.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with established technology solution providers and vendors. Drive the development of innovative solutions that create significant value for ABM by standardizing technologies across Industry Groups to lower operational costs and enhance scalability.
  • Ensure business alignment and scalability during pilot phases through effective oversight.
  • Lead the planning, governance, and prioritization of technology initiatives within the assigned business areas to ensure resources are allocated efficiently and that projects are delivered in alignment with business goals.
  • Navigate uncertainty by applying agile and iterative methodologies. Guide teams in identifying and validating critical decision points to ensure the successful realization of strategic business outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to adapt and repurpose existing solutions to address emerging challenges, create new products, and deliver enhanced services. Focus on leveraging proven technologies to meet evolving business needs.
  • Extend technology and information solutions across the Industry Groups to enhance service delivery, improve client satisfaction, and ensure high data integrity, fostering stronger relationships with both internal and external clients.
  • Act as a liaison with key stakeholders and business leaders, ensuring clear, proactive communication and alignment on technology strategy, planning, and execution.
  • Develop and present compelling business cases for technology initiatives, ensuring they align with the strategic objectives of the business and deliver measurable ROI.
  • Design and implement comprehensive change management strategies to drive adoption of new technologies, ensuring seamless transitions and sustained long-term value.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the technologies deployed within the Industry Group (s). Provide expert guidance to ensure solutions are effectively integrated and aligned with broader strategic goals.
  • Partner with the business development teams to support new client acquisition. Respond to client bids, develop pricing models, and lead presentations of technology solutions, prototypes, and product demos to secure new business.
  • Implement governance frameworks to ensure compliance with organizational standards, while driving continuous reporting and communication to meet performance expectations and business objectives.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the factors that drive value for ABM, including the interdependencies between products, services, business processes, information management, and technology. Identify and capitalize on opportunities to address unmet client needs and strengthen ABM's market position.

Knowledge and Skills

  • In-depth knowledge and experience of all stages of project and program lifecycle, including development of business cases and mobilization through value realization and steady-state
  • Experience with different project management and development methodologies (waterfall, agile, hybrids) and understanding the issues and concerns that favour a particular delivery approach
  • Experience working with stakeholders to help them understand Industry Group or functional group requirements such as APS, how to perform as a Product Owner and/or an Executive Sponsor, and building and managing product backlog
  • Must be able to work on both tactical solutions, as well as on long-term ideas which can potentially open the business up for new customers, usage occasions and channels
  • Experience with delivering large and/or complex programs
