Interim Controller – Real Estate Development & Services
Location: Remote okay with ability to travel to office in Washington, DC as needed
Duration: 3–4 months
Start: Immediate
Compensation: Market rate

About the Company:
A prominent real estate development and services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide leadership and hands-on support during a critical transition period.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee and manage the accounting team while remaining hands-on.
• Complete an ongoing accounting outsourcing project and optimize outsourced service support.
• Ensure accurate and complete property reporting, operational business financial statements, and cash reports.
• Focus on development accounting, property management accounting, and investment activities.
• Collaborate effectively with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to quickly come up to speed in a dynamic environment.
• Strong experience in real estate accounting, including development and property management.
• Must have experience with one or two real estate development companies.
• Familiarity with fund investment accounting.
• MRI system experience preferred ; open to candidates with other real estate management systems.
• Demonstrated success working with senior leadership and managing teams.
• Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution.
