Job Description

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Junior Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Will support the target system development and testing group.
• Perform rocket motor and payload vehicle flowfield, thermal and optical signature modeling, rocket plume signature and radio frequency signature and attenuation modeling, and verification and validation.
• Perform target missile trajectory and aerodynamics analyses, test analysis (vehicle predictions and post-mission performance assessment and reporting, test requirements development, coordinate system transformations, and modeling/simulation.
• Perform system engineering in all aspects of target design, analysis, and test including requirements development and assessment, modeling and simulation, test analysis, and reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM (e.g., physics, engineering, math, etc.).
• 3+ years working on missile defense-related or other DoD programs/projects.
• Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processes.
• Experience in any or all of the following disciplines: Rocket motor propulsion, flowfield modeling and signatures, Design, CAD, Trajectory, Radar Cross Section (RCS) Signatures, or Optical Signatures.
• Ability to communicate detailed technical information to technical and non-technical personnel.
• Must be a US Citizen and have/able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.
