Job Description

Job Purpose: A laundry attendant performs tasks such as washing, drying, and folding clothing and linens according to company quality standards. An attendant is often responsible for sorting items by color, weight, and fabric types and making sure items are washed in the proper machine cycle. Attendants follow guidelines for treating and removing stains when required. To represent the highest standard of excellence in room upkeep and guest satisfaction. Specific Expectations: The position’s primary purpose is to maintain excellent housekeeping standards, to ensure guest satisfaction and a future return. The Laundry attendant is expected to provide prompt, courteous, friendly, and professional service to all Porches Inns guests. They are responsible for maintaining superior quality service for guests. Performing their jobs daily, they must be detailed in every aspect of their work while maintaining an efficient pace. The Laundry attendant will adhere to all rules and guidelines as set for all department employees. Opening Duties:

  • Clock in and pick up keys.
  • Check/replace pool towels in Bldg. 7 and change the water jug as needed.
  • Clean the Fitness Room and change the water jug as needed.
Shift Duties:
  • Assist Housekeeping, stripping rooms, bringing cribs, aero beds, etc., when needed.
  • Clean and maintain all laundry room equipment and linens.
  • Ensure efficient and proper operation of laundry equipment.
  • Handle and store all cleaning supplies in the appropriate area.
  • Report any damaged linens to the supervisor.
  • Keep the laundry area organized and clean.
  • Supply adequate linens for housekeepers to complete all duties properly.
  • Train and assist new employees with techniques and procedures.
  • Work with fellow employees and management to achieve the standards set by Porches Inn.
Closing Duties:
  • Confirm that all assignments are completed.
  • Shut down all equipment.
  • Secure the work area.
  • Return keys.
  • Clock out and check the schedule.
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Experience in a similar work environment preferred.
  • Organized, multi-tasking, learns quickly, and works in a team environment.
  • Prioritizes and works efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Recognizes and resolves problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Lift, and carry supplies of up to 50 lbs. during your shift.
  • Stand, walk, remain on foot, and perform job duties throughout the shift.
