Job Description

ENCHANTED FOREST WATER SAFARI 

Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining constant vigilance over swimmers and enforcing rules to prevent accidents and injuries and for the safe and efficient operation of Enchanted Forest Water Safari’s aquatic areas. Lifeguards are regularly exposed to all types of weather conditions & are required to stand for extended periods of time. Lifeguards must maintain the cleanliness of the pools & surrounding work areas. Lifeguards will be required to participate in weekly in-service training sessions to maintain and improve life-guarding skills. Lifeguards must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and possess good communication skills.

  • Monitor pools with constant attention to all guests in your area
  • Follow strict guidelines with regard to safety and emergency procedures
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the pools and surrounding work areas
  • Know and enforce all safety policies, rules and regulations
  • Work well independently and as a part of a team
  • Understand and clearly communicate safety rules and procedures
  • Rescue guests and perform appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid
  • Attend required in-service training to maintain and improve life-guarding skills
  • Perform work safely in accordance with departmental safety procedures
  • Greet guests, team members and visitors in a professional and friendly manner, answer questions, provide direction and assist in resolving concerns

Requirements

  • Must be 15 years of age or older
  • Must be a capable swimmer
  • Must possess Current & Valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • Exhibit a friendly, cooperative and professional demeanor
  • Must be poised and able to cope with special and emergency situations
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Must be well groomed, self-disciplined and willing to comply with uniform guidelines
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of people
