We're hiring an Operational Network Engineer for a hybrid role in Westlake, Texas. This is a contract opportunity with a leading company. 3 days onsite required

In this position, you will join the Network Triage and Troubleshooting Team (NTT), responsible for diagnosing and resolving high-severity issues that affect external customers. These issues can range from network outages to application slowness, connectivity problems, and more.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in networking technologies, security, and cloud infrastructure, along with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.

• Identify and mitigate high-severity issues including network outages, slowness, and connectivity problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver fast and effective solutions.
• Apply deep understanding of networking technologies and security practices.
• Utilize software-defined networking and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues using tools such as Python and Ansible.
• Integrate PaaS services and manage cloud-based environments.
• Support and improve ITSM practices across incident, problem, and change management.

• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, security, and architecture.
• Infrastructure software development and automation skills in Python.
• Proven experience with virtual network and security constructs of AWS and/or Azure.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCSE certifications (desirable).
• Network security experience and certifications (a plus).
• Expertise in cloud networking and security constructs (DMZ).
• In-depth knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud technologies.
• Expertise in IP routing, firewalls, load balancers, proxies, and DNS.
• Knowledge of cloud PaaS service integration.
• Experience with ITSM practices (Change/Incident/Problem).
• Advocate for and practitioner of infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with Python/Ansible/SDN programming.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
