Primary Role:
Responsible for the installation of electronic communications equipment, including but not limited to, cable, fiber optics and electronic devices for Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression, Security, Access Control, CCTV and other systems. The installer is responsible for installing the products in the most efficient and effective manner. All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by Protex Central, while assuring a professional and safe working environment.

Responsibilities:
1. Reading and comprehension of project drawings and system schematics
2. Pulling of electronic cable
3. Mounting of raceway, conduit and boxes
4. Basic wiring and installation of hardware
5. Operation of cable testing equipment
6. Safely operating power tools
7. Meeting installation deadlines
8. Accurately tracking time and inventory items
9. Complying with company's and customers’ safety programs
10. Handles on-call duties on a regular scheduled basis
11. Performing other duties as required or assigned by company management

Accountability:

The Installer will report to the Operations Manager. Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, employees and customers of the company.

Qualifications:

The Installer shall possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A working knowledge of basic low voltage electrical installation techniques and communications systems is desired.

Travel:

Out of town travel required for certain projects.

  7. Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
  8. Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
  9. Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
  10. Must maintain a valid and current driver’s license.
  11. Must acquire and maintain applicable state license to install various systems.
  12. Must have or complete OSHA 10 Hour safety training.
  13. Must have NICET Fire Alarm certification or make progress towards achieving certification.
  14. While majority of work is completed during normal working hours, certain projects may require after-hours, overnight, weekend and even holiday work schedules.

 Essential Physical, Cognitive, and Environmental Requirements:

  1. Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
  2. Lifting of objects is required and employee must be able to lift 75 pounds.
  3. Employee must be able to climb and work from step or extension ladders.
  4. Reaching, grasping and carrying activities are also required.
  5. Must be able to tolerate a normally moderate noise level.
  6. Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations and employee must be able to work in both areas.
