The Department of Neurology Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is seeking to hire an outstanding neurointensivist. Clinical responsibilities will be divided between the Neurosciences Critical Care Unit at Harborview Medical Center and the Neurosciences Critical Care Service at the University of Washington Medical Center.
This individual will be a member of a multidisciplinary neurocritical care team, including faculty from Neurology, Neurological Surgery, Anesthesiology, Pulmonary Critical Care, and Emergency Medicine. They will engage in clinical care for patients with acute neurologic emergencies, teach critical care learners, be involved in curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives, and work on academic projects in collaboration with our team.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $18,644 - $22,084 per month ($223,728 to $265,008 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $20,764 - $26,679 per month ($249,168 to $320,148 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.
The anticipated start date of this appointment is July 1, 2025.
Requires an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent. Completion of a clinical neurophysiology or epilepsy fellowship training program is required. Must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
