The Opportunity

Were seeking a skilled and driven Patent Agent (Chemistry) to join one of our esteemed clients a leader in intellectual property law. This position offers the opportunity to work on groundbreaking technologies and collaborate with industry innovators while building robust intellectual property portfolios. The role is based in Boston MA

What Youll Do

• Lead with Expertise : Work with cuttingedge innovations to draft prosecute and analyze patent applications in various chemical fields including organic synthetic and medicinal chemistry as well as material science.
• Analyze and Innovate : Conduct comprehensive searches and indepth analysis of scientific literature patents and patent applications. Provide insights into the differences between inventions and existing discoveries.
• Collaborate for Success : Work with clients and crossfunctional teams to ensure highquality patent applications and build strong IP portfolios.
• Deliver Excellence : Draft office action responses compose patent applications and advocate for patent allowances with compelling arguments.

What You Bring to the Table

• Education :
  • Ph.D. in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry preferred OR
  • Minimum of 3 years of postbaccalaureate laboratory research experience.
• Experience :
  • At least 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
  • USPTO admission is required.
• Skills :
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to present scientific concepts clearly.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities to manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team environment.

• Scientific Expertise : Deep understanding of organic synthetic and medicinal chemistry.
• Patent Proficiency : Proven experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications and responses to office actions.
• Collaboration & Communication : Strong ability to convey ideas provide feedback and contribute to team success.
