About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of medications while providing excellent support to our pharmacists and patients. Key Responsibilities:

Demonstrate a sense of urgency and exceptional multitasking abilities.
Review all orders for completeness and accuracy.
Read and interpret prescriptions effectively.
Verify patient information and obtain proper physician authorization.
Check orders for insurance approval.
Calculate dosage volumes accurately, converting between metric and apothecary systems.
Assist pharmacists in safely distributing medications and providing pharmaceutical care.
Enter and process new prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system, following regulations and under the guidance of the supervising pharmacist (minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute).
Process prescription refills, including confirming refills when appropriate, reviewing pending refills with the supervising pharmacist, generating refill documentation, and managing third-party claims adjudication.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of all orders.
Provide phone support as needed.
Assist in maintaining the accuracy of software templates.
Qualifications:

A verifiable High School Diploma or GED is required.
Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days of employment.
Experience in pharmacy or healthcare remote customer service is preferred.
Strong data entry skills are essential.
Must have a comfortable commute to Irving, TX.
