Full-Time Physics & Chemistry Teacher, Starting August 16, 2024 Saint Mary's College High School • 1294 Albina Ave • Berkeley, CA Description Saint Mary's College High School invites applications for the position of full-time Physics teacher beginning August 16, 2024, to teach Conceptual Physics to sophomores, Physics to juniors and seniors and Advanced Placement Physics to juniors and seniors. Experience teaching Chemistry or other Science courses is an asset. This is a full-time 190-day position. Saint Mary's is a Lasallian Catholic College-Preparatory co-educational high school of 630 students in grades 9-12. Our school reflects the diversity of the East Bay while embracing a strong, inclusive community spirit. We operate on a trimester system; follow a curriculum that emphasizes the Humanities; and employ research-supported policies in instruction, assessment, and grading. We are sponsored by the Lasallian Christian Brothers of the San Francisco District and accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA). Benefits Compensation: A competitive salary & full benefits package is offered. Commensurate with the candidate's training and experience, the salary ranges from $60,000 to 110,000. Health coverage includes spouse and family.

Requirements Minimum Requirements for Teaching Faculty at Saint Mary's:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science
  • California Teaching Credential in Science
  • Active support of the Lasallian Mission of Saint Mary's College High School
  • Facility with educational technology in the classroom
  • Teaching experience is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Science or in Education
  • Strong technological skills with a variety of applications and software
  • Interest in actively participating in the co-curricular activities of the school (coaching, performing arts, club leadership)
