The Program Technician (PT) III in the Imaging and Record Services Section (IRSS) serves as a lead technician and trainer in the section and assists supervisors to review staff work products and resolve the more complex disposition documents, palm prints, and miscellaneous documents identified as criminal history record information into the Automated Archive System (AAS). The PT III must have a thorough knowledge of various statutory code sections and the criminal justice process and of the Automated Archive System (AAS), Justice Electronic Document Imaging (JEDI) system, Card Scan System, the Justice Automated Data Exchange (JADE), the Automated Criminal History System (ACHS), and the Folder Control System in order to resolve processing problems. The PT III assists in the writing of section procedures and provides training to the PT II, PT, and Office Assistant (OA), Seasonal Clerk, and Youth Aid staff.

This position is designated for telework under Government Code section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California and may require reporting to headquarters or field offices and facilities to fulfill operational needs. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Justice policies.
This position is eligible for telework, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Provides trainings to new and current staff
Reviews, analyzes, and resolves the more complex criminal and applicant history documents, and miscellaneous documents
Identifies problems in receiving, sorting, preparing, imaging and indexing and makes recommendations to update procedures as necessary
Compiles statistics for section and program management to be used in assessing quality control on an ongoing basis
Performs verification review of staff work products to assist supervision staff in training efforts and performance monitoring
