Come join our Rocket Ship and be part of Compass Datacenter's mission to make lives better by providing the world's technology leaders with a secure place to plug-in wherever they grow. We provide custom, move-in ready data centers from edge deployments to core facilities serving hyperscale, cloud and enterprise customers. At Compass we have our sights set on leaving a legacy imprint on the data center industry. By putting Culture first, we can show this not only produces results, but more importantly, can change lives.

Compass is seeking a Public Relations Manager to join our Marketing team in Dallas, TX.

We have a cool story to tell, and we need a strong public relations practitioner to help us tell it. We want to expand our media relations capabilities beyond planned thought leadership/byline driven content to more rapid response and proactive pitching.

We're seeking to add a marketing team member who will:

  • Get to know targeted trade and business reporters and maintain relationships with each.
  • Support local events and philanthropic giving, securing earned placements in operating communities.
  • Support cross-channel marketing campaigns with creative pitching and placement strategies.
  • Work with our partners to support announcements around new technologies, agreements and accomplishments.
  • Drive executive thought leadership by remaining closely tied to our leadership team's priorities, speaking engagements and ideas to write blog posts and presentations.
  • Write award entries and publicize the wins.
  • Support the innovation team by following its pursuit of new sustainability solutions, promoting those where possible, and helping with the development of Compass' annual ESG report.

This position will be supported by our public relations firm and be part of a fun, dynamic marketing team working in a booming industry, where we have a great opportunity to make a positive impact and help Compass stand out as a different kind of data center company.

Must-haves:

  • Exceptionally strong writing skills.
  • A high aptitude for consuming and distilling B2B content.
  • Proven ability to form and nurture relationships with targeted reporters and outlets.
  • An outgoing personality and eagerness to find the cool stories within Compass by getting to know teammates from development to delivery (construction) and operations, being curious and asking why.
  • An understanding of owned and shared channels to help position content across channels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced company which sometimes requires you to rely on your good instincts and supports failure on the path to success.
  • MS Office and strong writing and communications skills are a must.

Nice to have:

  • Some experience managing challenging issues.
  • Experience with Meltwater
