Role: Disaster Recovery Engineer Location: Chicago, IL Duration: Long Term USC, GC & EAD Holders will work Job Description The Disaster Recovery Engineer will be responsible for evaluating and engineering complex IT infrastructure solutions across a vast range of technologies within the IT Resiliency Team. The engineer must have strong program management skills to work with cross function infrastructure and application owners to assess, design, and implement technical solutions for the Disaster Recovery program. The engineer should be able to troubleshoot, identify root cause, and seek a formal solution with other teams as required. This hands-on role must have experience with data center, networking, security, storage, virtualization, databases, and middleware technologies.
Responsibilities As an expert, the Disaster Recovery Engineer will be on a team that will deliver end-to-end technical resiliency solutions to the organization, utilizing the latest technologies and leveraging automation mechanisms to reduce recovery times. The Disaster Recovery Engineer should have a solid understanding of program management and leadership skills to engage various teams.
Responsibilities For This Role Include - Independently implements technical solutions and delivers projects end-to-end working autonomously, while providing updates to stakeholders.
- Performs analysis of complex functional and business requirements. Prepares and delivers solutions for others. Lead design activities, working with architects from various technical teams.
- Demonstrates technical expertise and exerts influence outside of the immediate team. Develops innovative team solutions to complex problems. Contributes to strategic direction for teams.
- Applies in-depth or broad technical knowledge to provide maintenance solutions across one or more technology areas.
- Performs solution design in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Applies new technologies and leads the design of highly complex infrastructure and software solutions.
- Integrates technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for the Resiliency Team.
- Evaluate, develop, and oversee resiliency strategy across development and engineering teams.
- Advances the DR automation effort of applications and business capabilities.
- Collaborates closely with teams participating in strategic planning, facilitating cross-team solution reviews, and communicating strategy direction.
- Maintains an effective technical network across technical SMEs and architects for multiple service areas
Top Skills' Details - 5+ years as Technical Architect/Systems Administrator/Systems Engineer operating at enterprise scale.
- 4+ years of Disaster Recovery experience.
- 3+ years in a Team lead role that can engage and deliver projects to completion.
- Practical experience in both technology infrastructure and application development architectures.
- Infrastructure and service architecture & engineering experience, including functional and technical requirements gathering, and solution development.
- Strong system analysis and service development experience.
- Automation Experience.
Desired Qualifications - Financial or Regulatory domain experience a plus
- VMWare vRO experience a plus
- Service Now experience a plus
- Familiarity with Fusion a plus
Workplace Type - Hybrid Remote (3 Days Onsite/2 Days Remote)
- Must be local to the Chicagoland area
