Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - OR - Circulate

Shift Type: Days

Hours/Day: 8

Shift Notes: Monday-Friday days with call requirement of 3 days a week, including every 3rd weekend

Weekend Requirements: Every 3rd weekend

On Call Requirements: 2-3 nights on call during weekdays starting at 3:30 PM and alternating weekends on call

Rate of Pay: Range depending on experience (Submit Best)

Position Overview:

The RN Circulator, under the direction of the Surgical Services Director, provides professional nursing care to surgical services patients. Circulating nurses play a critical role in ensuring everything is in place and functioning correctly during surgery. They are responsible for accurate documentation of the surgical process, including the team involved and any complications that may occur, ensuring compliance with patient safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment are readily available and functioning properly.
• Ensure patient safety and well-being during surgery by continuously monitoring patient conditions and maintaining sterile environments.
• Provide assistance to the surgical team as needed during procedures.
• Accurately document the surgical process, including the procedure performed, team members involved, and any complications.
• Manage the patient's care during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
• Respond quickly to any complications or changes in the patients condition.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other surgical team members to deliver optimal patient care.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of current hospital experience in the Operating Room (OR), including experience with endoscopy.
• Experience circulating for orthopedic surgeries (total hip, total knee), general surgery, podiatry, ENT, and endoscopy - Required.
• Scrub and PACU experience preferred but not required.
• Central Line, IV start skills - Required.
• Ventilator and BiPAP experience - Required.
• Scrub/Phase I recovery experience preferred.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and registered with the New Hampshire State Board of Nursing.
• Familiarity with computer applications - Required.
• Must have technical aptitude and a willingness to learn software applications.
• Experience or ongoing education in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

State License Requirements:

• New Hampshire
• Compact allowed

Additional License Requirements:

• NH or Compact license must be in-hand at the time of submission.
