Job Summary:
Performs assigned clinical and non clinical duties under the direct on-site supervision of the occupational therapist, physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. Prepares patients and treatment area for session treatment. Assist patient in dressing, removing clothing and applying or removing assistive or supporting devices. Transport and instruct patients as directed. Transfer and assist with gait training and non-skilled therapeutic interventions. Perform housekeeping, stocking, and general department and equipment maintenance duties. Will perform selected clerical or reception duties as needed.
Full time with benefits
Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm + weekend rotation as scheduled
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent. Prefer Certified Nursing Assistant education/training
EXPERIENCE: 1 year’s practical experience in hospital or health care setting providing direct care or interaction with patients.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Current BLS or BLS within 90 days of hire required. BWR and/or ARC Lifeguard within 180 days of hire.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS: Office machines, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, patient therapeutic equipment/machines.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Ability to work with patients from birth to geriatric from different social-economic and cultural backgrounds. Entry level knowledge of medical terminology and anatomical structures and anatomy. Knowledge and skill in common patient handling skills and proper touch and body mechanics for health care workers. Application of basic therapy procedures under individualized parameters. Awareness of common health and rehabilitation clinical conditions, diseases, and injuries. Awareness of performance improvement, risk management, safety, infection control, public relations and employee standards and scripting and general therapy office procedures and filing.
