Job Description

Headquartered in Georgia, we are looking for a Safety/EH&S Manager out of our Coxsackie location! We are a global company specializing in assisting people sleep all over the U.S.! 

The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This position requires a strong understanding of EHS, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Lean principles, as well as experience with safety metrics and quality management. The ideal candidate will also possess strong leadership and communication skills to effectively implement and maintain safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures that comply with all relevant regulations and standards
  • Ensure all employees receive appropriate safety training and maintain records of training completion
  • Investigate and document all incidents, near misses, and accidents, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
  • Stay updated on all relevant regulations and standards and make necessary updates to safety policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with departments to identify potential safety risks and develop strategies for risk mitigation
  • Manage industrial hygiene programs to ensure a safe working environment for employees
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA fire codes and ANSI standards
  • Track and report safety metrics to upper management and make recommendations for improvement
  • Conduct safety training for new employees and provide ongoing training and support for existing employees
  • Lead incident investigations and participate in root cause analysis to identify and address underlying safety issues
  • Implement and maintain a safety culture throughout the organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong understanding of EHS, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Lean principles
  • Experience with safety audits, corrective actions, and incident investigations
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene practices and regulations
  • Familiarity with NFPA fire codes and ANSI standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
