Job Overview:

Position: Part-Time Remote Special Education Teacher
Schedule: 5 days a week, 2-3 hours per day
Grade Level: 8th Grade Caseload
Program: Life Skills Program
Location: Fully Remote (Work from Home)

Key Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Special Education
State Certification in Special Education (Maine Certification preferred)
Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs
Bachelor's Degree in Education
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply (monolingual candidates are also considered)

Responsibilities:

Identify and assess the unique needs of each student, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Develop and implement individualized learning plans that align with each student's goals.
Use specialized tools and resources to create engaging, interactive lessons that capture students' attention.
Regularly assess students' progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with the Classroom Teacher and Lead Teacher to ensure alignment with each student's IEP.
Provide regular updates to parents, offering suggestions and support to continue student progress at home.
Ensure that all lessons and assessments are delivered seamlessly through virtual platforms.
