We are excited to welcome a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to our dynamic and innovative team! In this role, you will help develop cutting-edge modular cloud technologies and optimized infrastructure that empower remote services in distributed environments, specifically for our partnership with the Department of Defense. Your expertise in Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and both cloud and on-premises technologies will be essential in ensuring high-quality software and dynamic data availability, ultimately supporting our nation's warfighters.

You will play a pivotal role in our project supporting the U.S. Navy Spectral Program, a significant initiative focused on next-generation signals intelligence, electronic warfare, and information operations software technologies. Your contributions will directly enhance our capabilities in navigating complex cyber and electronic threats.

More About the Role: As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will drive a culture of continuous improvement within our Distributed Operations and Remoting Services team. Your work will enable Spectral capabilities to be effectively utilized across multiple platforms, facilitating information sharing with remote sites and significantly enhancing system performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

Deploying highly available and scalable infrastructure as code across distributed cloud and on-premises data centers.
Implementing distributed databases and message queue technologies, such as Kafka, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
Automating CI/CD processes to ensure seamless deployment in distributed environments.
Executing zero-downtime strategies for blue-green deployments.
Maintaining continuous authority to field CI/CD pipeline technologies for efficient application deployment.
Utilizing tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, and Helm charts to provision infrastructure as code and minimize downtime.
Implementing health and status monitoring capabilities across distributed environments.
Optimizing networking solutions using VPNs, VPC peering, and service mesh technologies.
Ensuring compliance with data dissemination standards for distributed systems.
Applying best practices for security and encryption in scaled distributed systems.
Implementing chaos engineering practices to enhance fault tolerance.
Leveraging modular container orchestration in various environments.
Deploying air gap technologies at multiple impact levels.
Facilitating automated cross-domain solutions for continuous software deployment.
Promoting cross-team collaboration, mentorship, and providing senior-level guidance in software application design.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, System Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, Software Engineering, or related areas.
Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, Bash, and Go.
Hands-on experience with infrastructure configuration management and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes) in distributed environments.
Strong background in Linux administration (RedHat and CentOS), microservices, and distributed cloud deployments.
Active Top Secret/SCI DoD Security Clearance.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and relevant certifications.
Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA) certification.
Familiarity with automation/configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Experience managing CI/CD toolchains (Certified Jenkins Engineer, GitLab).
Proficiency in container automation and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate certification.
Understanding of security methodologies and tools (e.g., SonarQube).
Experience in scripting and programming automation (Python, Bash, etc.).
Knowledge of microservice architectures and serverless computing security.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, AWS Certified Security).
