Position Overview
We are a leading heavily civil construction contractor focused on a variety of projects including complex pit excavation, vertical seals, and ground improvement. We services clients needing work for residential, industrial, commercial, and governmental projects.

The Senior Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial operations of the organization, managing complex accounting tasks and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This position is integral in providing accurate financial data that supports decision-making and strategic planning.

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, including IFRS.
• Conduct job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) analyses for construction projects.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Collaborate with project managers to analyze project costs and variances.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Utilize SAP for financial reporting and data analysis.
• Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of job costing and WIP accounting.
• Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with IFRS is essential.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
