The Senior Project Controls Manager is responsible for developing, using and improving existing enterprise tools, systems and work processes to drive effective management control and reporting on cost, schedule and progress measurement for Amtrak’s Chicago Hub Improvement Program (CHIP). Individuals in this role may act as a Master Scheduler and/or Master Risk Manager and develop project dashboards, cost and resource performance reports, change logs and risk registers in close collaboration with Program Managers and Executive Sponsors at the portfolio or mega program level. Senior Project Controls Managers work under minimal supervision of a Senior Program leader and may lead a program level controls team consisting of direct and matrixed subordinate controls practitioners.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduate Degree · Licensed Professional Engineer.
Understanding of railroad business functions, operations, and design and construction processes.
Previous railroad, heavy civil and bridge projects in the design and/or construction phases.
Knowledge of contracts and contract administration including its assessment and implementation at each phase of the project.
PMI-SP, PMI-RMP, CCP or PSP certification.

The salary/hourly range is $135,800-$176,040 . Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
