Job Description

It’s an exciting time to be joining a rapidly growing small business! Rainmakers Strategic Solutions, LLC, a certified SBA 8(a) and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), is looking to expand capabilities in the government healthcare space to support an expanding portfolio of federal healthcare clients. We seek dynamic Statisticians.

We are looking for a high-energy professional bringing federal agency contracting experience on large-scale data analysis and compliance projects. Working with the Project Manager (PM), the Statistician will support a highly functioning, multi-firm team delivering high-quality statistical analysis and compliance reporting to multiple government stakeholders. A highly self-motivated and organized person with strong analytical skills, who has a passion to achieve and thrives in a fast-paced environment, would be a great fit.

Key Duties/Responsibilities of the Statistician

  • Data Analysis: Conduct statistical analysis on healthcare data, including compliance calculations and performance metrics relevant to the Physician Compare Website.
  • Compliance Reporting: Prepare and present reports on compliance status, data trends, and program performance metrics, ensuring alignment with CMS guidelines.
  • Waiver Reviews: Analyze and process waiver requests in accordance with CMS regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the PM, internal teams, and CMS components to gather and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Educational Materials Development: Develop and distribute educational materials to promote understanding of statistical findings and compliance requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure accuracy in data analysis and reporting, following best practices and CMS guidelines.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to team members on statistical methodologies and data analysis tools.

Important Tasks

  • Assist the PM to develop and maintain project management artifacts including PMP, templates, Standard Operating Procedures, processes, and project reports.
  • Perform resource planning activities including analysis of scope, tasks, and hours.
  • Identify, track, and assess project milestones and progress.
  • Assist the PM in ensuring quality processes and procedures are followed to meet corporate and project compliance quality requirements including ISO, CMMI, security, and privacy.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with individuals with both technical and non-technical backgrounds, multiple government stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
  • Maintain quality standards across products.
  • Support internal and external audits of project/program processes and products, as needed.
  • Effectively prioritize multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Statistics, Public Health, Health Policy, Data Science, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

Relevant Knowledge

  • Proficiency in statistics/programming, data manipulation, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data, particularly in Medicare Part C and D benefits.
  • Understanding of HIPAA privacy provisions as they apply to healthcare data.
  • Experience in the design, management, and oversight of databases, especially in the healthcare sector.

Experience

  • 3 years working in the health care space
  • 3 years knowledge of and experience with CMS
  • 3 years knowledge of and experience data analysis of health care data and familiarity with advanced statistics packages (e.g., SAS)

Skills

  • Federal government and/or healthcare project experience
  • Exceptional written and oral skills sufficient to communicate effectively with government and industry stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self‐directed and detail oriented
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive

Software Proficiency

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications such as Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; and statistical packages such as SAS,R.
