THE POSITION: We are looking for a Telecom Planning Engineer. The pay range we offer is $60,000 to $120,000 per year. We offer a generous compensation plan based on industry standards and your experience.

Medical - company pays 80-90% of employee costs, contributing to over half of the dependent premium.

RESPONSIBILITIES: As the Telecom Planning Engineer, you will analyze a network facility, identify savings opportunities within a collocation environment and then develop the strategy to obtain the savings. You will develop and execute strategies to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and increase customer satisfaction. The Telecom Planning Engineer will have a strong background in researching records data and physical attributes on-site to uncover opportunities and well-versed business acumen. You will also need to be intimately familiar with understanding the architecture and engineering for network element capabilities defined by the customer guidelines for circuit types and products. Additionally, researching the capabilities and power requirements of the network elements defined by the manufacturers will be required. The Telecom Planning Engineer will develop plans for network expansion, upgrades, and maintenance. The Telecom Planning Engineer will create detailed reports on the progress of projects and provide technical support to other departments. Additionally, the Planning Engineer must stay up-to-date on industry trends and technologies to offer customers the best solutions.
Interpret billing records to audit against network/circuit inventory.
Extensive knowledge of third-party collocation facility general accepted practices, distribution, policies, and architectures.
Knowledge of AC & DC Power distribution and system demand calculations for secondary and tertiary power.
Firm knowledge of OSP/ISP, SONET, DWDM, and IP planning and engineering.
Microsoft Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Business Case development.
Budget estimation for capital and expense.
Develops a complete plan and budget for projects to be implemented.
Excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to track daily duties and time.


REQUIREMENTS:
Work authorization (required).
Ability to pass a pre-employment screen (drug, background, and driving).
Bachelor's Engineering or technical degree or a combination of highly related experience and education.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network planning and engineering.
Experience with network element configuration and installation.
Experience with network element power requirements.
Experience with collocation facility design and architecture.
Knowledge of OSP/ISP, SONET, DWDM, and IP planning and engineering.
2+ years of experience in the wireless industry.
Valid state-issued driver's license is required.
