This is a remote position targeted to the following metro areas: Denver, Colorado; Cleveland, Ohio; and Madison, Wisconsin. Playback Rewards is seeking a skilled and motivated Entry to Mid-level TypeScript Developer . You'll join our startup team of games industry veterans to help build a powerful and scalable video game rewards platform. In this role, you will join our experienced development team where you'll build and maintain web applications and features in TypeScript/JavaScript and serverless architectures on AWS or Google Cloud. The ideal candidate is driven to learn and solve problems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and coding standards. 
  • Coordinate with development and design teams to develop applications that are aligned with specifications and run on numerous platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of technical specifications and architecture plans.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members and ensuring code quality and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance our technology and innovate.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in professional web development
  • Experience with multiple TypeScript and JavaScript projects
  • Familiarity with modern web technologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., React, Node.js, Express, etc.)
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming concepts
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • A willingness to learn, adapt, and be mentored in new technologies and practices
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong time management skills, organized, self driven, and highly productive
  • Experience with source control (e.g., Git)

Preferred experience to highlight in your application:

  • BS in Computer Science, Bootcamp Certification (or equivalent foundational technical experience)
  • Experience with cloud architecture on GCP, Azure, or AWS
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes
  • Experience working in sprint and agile-like development methodologies
  • Experience with ticketing systems like Jira, Trello or ClickUp
  • Experience with AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions, or Azure Functions
  • Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Firestore
  • Experience with Firebase
  • Experience creating cross-platform optimized and scalable user experiences
  • Experience with CSS, animation frameworks, and responsive design
  • Experience working with and/or managing external developer partners

We offer a competitive salary of $70-$85k per year depending on experience; 4 weeks of flexible paid time off and company holidays; comprehensive health, dental, vision insurance (all 50% company paid); and a 401k (with 4% company match).
