Position Description
As a mission-driven school, Burke’s is seeking a part-time English teacher for grade 7 who can educate, encourage, and empower girls by developing their skills in reading, writing, and literary analysis. Identity, identity formation, and exploring different perspectives and lived experiences are themes that run throughout the Upper School English curriculum. With an emphasis on project-based learning and a commitment to anti-racist education, students should be able to connect their learning to the world around them, communicate their ideas through speaking and writing, and be empowered to see themselves as agents of positive change. Expository and creative writing, vocabulary development, and grammar instruction are also part of the curriculum.

Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, preferably in a humanities-related field

Compensation
Burke’s offers competitive compensation with a salary range of $70,000 - $150,00 based on years of experience plus advanced degree stipends. Both prorated for 0.375 FTE. More information about the school can be found on the website at
