A family in Robbinsville, NJ is seeking a part-time, live-out caregiver for their three children, ages 2, 6, and 10 years old. The typical schedule will be Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. Occasional date night and late night care is a plus.
Duties include :
Driving to any weekend activities. Assisting with basic meal prep for the children such as warming up food, cutting fruit, and making sandwiches. Sweeping and washing the dishes. Tidying up after the children and doing their laundry. Assisting with the bedtime routine.
Ideal nanny:
The ideal nanny for this family is gentle, kind, patient, fun, whimsical, creative, responsible, reliable, caring, and assertive. They are able to patiently guide the children to complete things that are difficult for them but also know when it’s time to take over. They can entertain the kids with stories they make up or silly songs. Looking for a caregiver who is able to set boundaries in a kind and gentle way and can help teach emotional regulation. Nanny must be comfortable watching the children in the pool. Experience with gentle parenting and/or Montessori/Waldorf style is a plus.
About the children :
This 10-year-old is curious, creative, grand, energetic, and friendly. His favorite subject is history. He likes building things and has lots of big ideas. At times, he has a strong need for attention and it can be hard to gently say no to him.
This 6-year-old is sweet, shy, thoughtful, somewhat anxious, and tender. She loves coloring and is still learning how to read. She likes doing crafts and fun science experiments where things get mixed together. She can struggle with confidence and feeling capable and thrives with encouragement.
This 2-year-old is energetic, determined, playful, easygoing, and joyful. He likes to do things by himself. The children get along sometimes.
About the household :
These parents like to avoid screen time as much as possible and prefer the kids to have opportunities to be creative and imaginative. There is one dog that lives in the house and other animals that live outside, but no pet care is needed. These parents prefer and try their best to use a gentle parenting style.
