Assistant Montessori Teacher job at Deep Roots Montessori Anna, TX, US

Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

The assistant is responsible for implementing the Montessori curriculum and philosophy under the supervision of the Lead teacher. The general duties of the Montessori assistant shall include, but shall not necessarily be limited to, the following:

To prepare and clean the environment under the specification of the Montessori teacher,
To assume responsibility of Lead Teacher in their absence
To attend meetings and other school functions as specified by the School Director
To assist in the making of materials for the classroom
To supervise children’s use of materials as directed
To participate in record-keeping, assessment of children
To work with individual and small groups of children
To be in charge of children’s lunch time/ nap time
To assist in playground supervision and special activities and projects

QUALIFICATIONS:

Have one or more of the following: Work experience in a Montessori school or work experience in a Day Care Center. Work experience with appropriate aged children. High school diploma or equivalent and read and write in English. Fulfill all requirements of State and local Licensing agencies.
