Position Overview
Veracity Electric is seeking an experienced Construction Accountant to manage project accounting, accounts receivable, compliance, and operational financial tracking across multiple electrical construction projects. This role is central to project financial health, fleet compliance, and cross-functional coordination with operations and leadership.
Core Responsibilities
Project Accounting & Financial Operations
Manage accounts receivable for multiple electrical construction projects
Prepare and submit monthly progress billings, retention, change orders, and final invoices
Process cost-to-complete (CTC) entries and assist with job cost forecasting
Maintain accurate job cost reports and support work-in-progress (WIP) schedules
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies
Support month-end close, financial reporting, and cash flow forecasting
Maintain clear financial communication tied to job schedules and project status
Lien Waivers, Compliance & Pre-Qualifications
Prepare, issue, and track conditional and unconditional lien waivers
Ensure compliance with contract terms and state-specific waiver requirements
Maintain and submit contractor pre-qualifications (e.g., financials, insurance, bonding, safety documentation)
Coordinate with general contractors and owners on compliance documentation
Maintain organized records for audits and project closeouts
Fleet, Asset & DOT Oversight
Maintain fleet maintenance schedules and documentation
Track DOT compliance requirements, inspections, and renewals
Manage company asset tracking, including vehicles, major tools, and equipment
Coordinate with operations on vehicle usage, replacements, and asset lifecycle tracking
Cross-Functional Support
Work closely with project managers, operations, and procurement teams
Support leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting
Assist with internal process improvements related to accounting and compliance
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in construction accounting, preferably electrical or specialty contracting
Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, progress billing, retention, lien waivers, and job costing
Experience with cost-to-complete and WIP reporting
Familiarity with fleet, DOT, and asset management processes
Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Procore, Viewpoint)
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred
Experience supporting multi-state or multi-project electrical contractors
Familiarity with GC pre-qualification platforms (e.g., ISNetworld, Avetta, BuildingConnected)
