Engineering Technician - Junior Level Drafter
Pay - $27 per hour
Locations - Any MAJOR US City
Hybrid Remote Position - 3 days in office 2 days from home
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent US Resident
Entry Level Experienced Candidates will be considered!
6 Month Contract to Hire Position

Information from hiring manager......

1. We are looking for candidates who have a solid background of CAD knowledge whether from school or some industry experience. Some of the resumes received were architectural or unrelated to our industry and other candidates were better fits given their skillsets/experience.
2. I wouldn’t say they can only have electrical experience, however that is the type of work they would be supporting if hired and it would help. Again, we found other candidates to be better suited if they had more experience primarily in electrical. Our primary software uses are, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, MicroStation and Inventor, so if there were candidates who didn't have one of those software applications then they were rejected.
3. We are targeting candidates with some sort of technical/associate degree.
4. We are primarily targeting CAD students/professionals. Even though the engineering students may have some experience/exposure, it is not their primary area of focus and usually not where they desire to stay in their careers

Under close supervision, performs engineering technician work requiring basic technical knowledge utilizing electronic applications, processes, standards and document control processes/procedures for the purpose of creating or modifying deliverables. Engineering Standards: Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and maintaining a working knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and Black & Veatch policies and procedures Quality / Continuous Improvement: Ensures that deliverables are accurate and compliant by developing an understanding and complying with the Black & Veatch Quality Program Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts Engineering Production: Learns the applications required to modify less complex deliverables based on a variety of design inputs. Client Focus: Learns to identify the needs of internal clients and begins to gain a basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers. Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology: Proactively seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processes

Education:
Diploma or Certificate preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.

No previous engineering work experience required.
